Windows Server 2022 for OS Modernization

• Users can now select Windows Server 2022 as the target Operating System for OS Modernization where the source is a 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003, 2008/R2, 2012/R2, 2016 or 2019. RiverMeadow will hop or multi-hop (example Server 2008 -> 2012R2 -> 2019 -> 2022) as required from source version to selected target version as part of the migration process on the target clone in isolation. 

Windows 11 for OS Modernization

• Users can now select Windows 11 as the target Operating System for OS Modernization where the source is a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or 10. RiverMeadow will hop or multi-hop (example Windows 7 -> 10 -> 11) as required from source version to selected target version as part of the migration process on the target clone in isolation. 

Redhat 8.7 for OS Modernization

• Users can now select Redhat 8 (target version for this release is 8.7) as the target Operating System for OS Modernization where the source is Redhat Enterprise 6.x or 7.x. RiverMeadow will hop or multi-hop (example 6.1 -> 6.10 -> 7.9 -> 8.7) as required from source version to selected target version as part of the migration process on the target clone in isolation. 

VMware Performance Gathering and Right-sizing Recommendations

• Added support for gathering VMware performance metrics for VM-based migrations where performance graphs are shown on a per VM basis along with current vCPU, vRAM and Disk sizes. This is an agentless discovery solution that uses information stored in the vCenter database to provide additional insights to VM utilization, along with a recommendation from RiverMeadow to resize the VM (sockets, cores or RAM) as part of migration. This quick and easy rightsizing solution is helpful to optimize workloads in target vSphere environments including private cloud, VMC, AVS and GCVE to reduce the number of required ESXi hosts or Nodes to decrease overall cloud spend. Since UAT is part of the migration process, customers can perform functional and nonfunctional testing in advance of a cutover to ensure rightsizing optimization(s) don’t negatively affect application performance and end-user experience.

Support for PowerShell for Automation (Azure and vSphere in this release, with AWS and GCP coming in future releases)

• Along with conducting migrations using the REST API, the UI or by csv file, RiverMeadow has also added the ability to conduct migrations via Microsoft PowerShell. This can help customers and partners to more easily leverage automation to the RiverMeadow engine. RiverMeadow maintains releases of the PowerShell cmdlets within the Microsoft PowerShell Gallery. 
• Minimum PowerShell version is 5.1 although PowerShell 7.3 is recommended
