RiverMeadow SaaS Platform successfully migrates workloads from physical, virtual or cloud to any target cloud. It can migrate workloads to AWS, minimizing time, costs and risks. The platform’s capabilities and past projects track record convinced many organizations to choose it for their cloud migration projects.

The company

The world’s leading live entertainment and ticketing company selected Amazon Web Services as its cloud infrastructure provider and wanted to move its global IT infrastructure to the AWS cloud without risks and disruption.

The challenge

The organization’s websites had to be migrated to AWS, so they could leverage AWS Lambda, Amazon Relational Database Services (RDS), Amazon Aurora, and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) to simplify management of large-scale databases, for storing logs, and static content. They wanted to move to AWS to reduce costs and gain greater flexibility to focus on more strategic initiatives.

The solution

In order to quickly take advantage of the many services that AWS offers, this organization needed a reliable, secure and efficient way to move and transform their IT infrastructure into the AWS cloud. The Vice President of Cloud services and his team spent several weeks evaluating every solution to migrate their AWS infrastructure, and they selected RiverMeadow Software.

RiverMeadow’s cloud migration platform is agentless, does not require hypervisor access and performs live streaming workload migrations.  The RiverMeadow SaaS Platform also has built-in pre-flight automation that drives market leading first delivery attempt success.

The results

Transforming workloads in the cloud take a significant amount of time an effort.  This organization wanted to quickly leverage the AWS Data Migration, while they were performing their long-term transformation, and they liked RiverMeadow’s lift and optimize approach.

With the lift and optimize approach, an organization can make significant changes very quickly like right-sizing their servers, inserting agents and upgrading software, tagging instances, and even transforming from one operating system to another, all while migrating to the cloud.

This project consisted of 668 servers and 118 applications, and it was completed end to end in 17 months, with 90% of the applications migrated in the first 12 months.  They are already experiencing a Total Cost of Ownership reduction of over 18%, and they are now focusing on the strategic initiatives feeds their business.

Final thoughts

RiverMeadow SaaS Platform helped, once again, a leading company on the market to migrate its workloads to the cloud, which allowed them to focus on more critical aspects of their business.
